For sites that need to be updated regularly, a Content Management system (CMS) is a must.

Whilst WEBPLUS gives you all the tools to create an attractive web site, it doesn’t yet incorporate a system of updating content in a simple way. Basically, you have to use your WEBPLUS program to make the changes to your site, and then upload the changes to your server.

For many people, this is not the best option - particularly if you want your client’s to take control over their web site, and do all their content updates themselves.

Fortunately, a solution is at hand, but it comes in the form of a third-party script that gets installed on the host server, and will allow web site owners to log-into their site from any web browser, and make changes to their site content.

Our preferred script is one produced by CGIScripts.net which is called csArticles. The script comes with a price tag, but it does include free installation on your server. (great for the non-technical site developers amongst us)

Once the script is installed, a simple login through any web browser is all that is required to get into this powerful web application.

Through the web interface, a whole series of articles can be created with the help of an on-line WYSIWYG editor which also allows for the inclusion of images and graphics. Once articles are created, the script will give you URL’s of every article you create which you can then embed on appropriate pages of your WEBPLUS site. The script also allows you to create article categories, complete with article indexes which can also appear in your web site.

Once the basic categories and articles are created, users can simply log into the script and edit, remove or add articles to their heart’s content. Every change made will be automatically reflected in the web pages of the site.

At $99 its not a cheap script, but for a web site owner who wants the ease and flexibility of controlling his web site content on a frequent basis, its worth every cent.
