How to Create a Site A Client Can Update

Using the Framed Document tool, you can put an iframe onto a page linked to a .htm page that has been made up in a word processor that can save a file in a .htm filetype and uploaded it to the sever. (Links to JARTE and Open Office below.)

All they have to do is change the details on that page and overwrite the same file on the server, keeping the same name.

It does work as I'm helping someone at the moment do the same thing with a list of names and email addresses in a table.

As long as you can trust them to upload correctly and not delete anything off the server.

PS - It’s a good idea to put these client side files in a separate directory/folder with separate password to minimize risk to the site itself. Then, just hyperlink the iframe to the url. Mjh
